Job Overview:

The Data Management Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing all data-related aspects of EPC projects. This includes managing engineering data and ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Governance and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement data management processes, procedures, and work instructions for the project.
    • Develop and implement data governance policies tailored to EPC projects.
    • Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, regulations, and corporate policies.
    • Establish and manage project-specific data management frameworks.
  2. Data Quality Management:
    • Oversee the creation, storage, and maintenance of project data.
    • Implement processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
    • Conduct regular audits to verify data integrity and completeness.
    • Ensure project data handover to the client is conducted according to agreed-upon procedures and specified data handover requirements.
  3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to understand data requirements.
    • Facilitate communication between engineering, procurement, and construction teams regarding data needs.
    • Provide training and support to project stakeholders on data management best practices.
    • Coordinate and interface with the client's designated representative on all aspects of project data management.
    • Collaborate with the Digital/IT/Software vendor team(s) to ensure that project databases and tools are efficiently configured to meet project requirements.
  4. Data Integration and Technical Oversight:
    • Lead the integration of data from various sources including engineering models, procurement systems, and construction management tools.
    • Oversee the design and implementation of project-specific data architectures.
    • Ensure seamless data flow and integration between engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  5. Data Strategy and Advanced Analytics:
    • Develop and implement data strategies to support project execution and decision-making.
    • Promote the use of advanced analytics and data-driven insights to optimize project performance.
    • Oversee the development of data models, dashboards, and reporting tools to provide real-time project insights.
    • Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive data reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of data professionals across various functions.
    • Ensure continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience:

    • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in data management within the Oil & Gas EPC industry.
    • Proven experience in leading data management efforts on large-scale EPC projects.
    • In-depth knowledge of EPC project workflows, data requirements, and industry standards.

Skills:

    • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
    • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies specific to the Oil & Gas sector.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong knowledge of systems and software related to EPCI and O&M, such as Sharecat, AVEVA, SAP, EDMS, Completions, and CMMS.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills.

Certifications:

    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar are highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment with some yard visits and interactions with project teams.
  • Ability to adapt work schedule to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, subcontractor offices, and client offices.
