MODEC is looking for an I&C Commissioning SME, who applies expert knowledge of Instrumentation and Control Commissioning and seasoned project / site experience / Industry to support development / improvement / implementation / assessment of
procedures / work processes for the successful commissioning of any project in MODEC business areas including hull/topsides/mooring facilities right from preparation phase to execution phase.

Duties

- Participate in Engineering Reviews and Engineering Validation Activities including but not limited to HAZID, HAZOP, Studies, Operability, Front Loading Commissioning in design, SCE’s and Performance standards in Commissioning Procedures.
- To independently review & develop various complex commissioning deliverables, analyze the documents and highlight the shortfalls through vigorous review process and address these shortfalls with the team.
- Develop / Improvise Onshore and Offshore Commissioning Procedures for Instrumentation and Control Systems.
- To support in developing project deliverables as per project & client requirement
- Prepare & Review of company development work methodology / procedures.
- Capable of managing demanding expectations of clients which may range from addressing gaps to unexpected work scope variations while ensuring conformance to the project, regulatory and contract requirements.
- Attend FAT and SAT depending on project requirements.
- Independently deals with regulatory authority, class, vendors and clients with regards to comments or queries on commissioning deliverables and develops technical/engineering solutions to the issues raised.
- Carry forward the MODEC HSEQ policies / requirements to the team and meet overall HSEQ objectives in all projects / feedback results to corporate HSEQ team.
- Participates in meetings with the project team to review progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues where necessary based on the standard procedures, practices and lessons learnt from past projects to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
- Perform duties as per directives of reporting authority.
- Leads site execution team on performing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities planned for the Instrumentation & Control systems, managing the interfaces with Construction and Pre-Operations teams, ensuring adherence to yard and company PTW systems regarding all the Instrumentation & Control System SoW.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Electrical / Electronics/ Instrumentation/Electronic) with 14 to 17 years work experience (or) Master Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation / Electronics) with 12 to 15 years work experience with minimum of 10 years work experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas area or FPSO line(s).
• Functional Safety Engineer Certification/OT Cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443 certification), Hands
on experience in Machine Monitoring System & Automation and Control System
• Specialist knowledge of at least Three MODEC or related project line.
• Ability to define concepts of completion process.
• Have proven project experience and skills within the field of Testing, Pre-commissioning,
Commissioning execution and startup at offshore
• Good Knowledge in design of FPSO’s including FEED, detailed design, construction,
commissioning & start-up phase.
• Comprehensive knowledge on functionality of FPSO, focus in Instrumentation & Control
systems (Process Control System, Safety Instrumented System, SIL/SIF verification)
preferentially with knowledge of eminent DCS equipment and software providers.
• Comprehensive knowledge on FPSO EPCI functionality and execution sequence.
• Knowledge of IEC standards related automation.
• Experience in offshore plant startup and stabilization and able to provide Operations with
technical support throughout start-up, stabilization and performance testing
• Work experience within strict regulatory environments, and aligning commissioning
independencies with engineering compliance and contractual requirements.
• High safety awareness is mandatory. A good knowledge of managing simultaneous
operations (SIMOPS) is essential.
